I was part of a small team responsible for finding out how our rocks, cliffs and peaks should fit into our environment, balancing visual language for navigation with art direction aesthetic. Some of my main responsibilities were creating the base rock material and leading the creation and maintenance of the different rock biome variants.
Special mention to Harold Lamb and Philip Jenne for their help on the material side and Tyler Smith on his wonderful work on the rock models. And of course I need to thank the entire environment team, especially the rest of the world team for the placing and maintaining of the rocks in the open world.
